In partnership, with the Canadian Council of the Blind, Gateway Navigation CCC Limited is committed to accelerating and promoting the use of Accessible Audio Indoor Navigation and ensuring a predictable and repeatable experience for users across local, regional and national applications of the technology.
Gateway Navigation has adopted strategic objectives required to fulfill the role as an Accessible Audio Indoor Navigation (AAIN) Centre of Excellence (COE) in Canada.
This includes establishing a team to objectively uphold best practices, guidelines, policies, standards and training to ensure that the accessibility, compatibility and sustainability of the AAIN built environments are successful.
The AAIN COE services span the whole project development life-cycle, from initiation, analysis, design, construction, deployment, and post-production support with the primary purpose of helping projects bring well-engineered solutions to the users and customers of the product.
The AAIN Centre of Excellence has four major functions:
1. Establish standardized routines, protocols, tools and database. In which venue owners / managers can share positioning and data content of indoor navigation hardware with all app developers.
2. Promote non-exclusivity of positioning and content data.
3. Establish standardized routines, protocols, tools and database for data content in English (Canadian), French (Canadian) and other languages.
4. Be the go to resource for development, implementation, maintenance and research / development of AAIN Technology for indoor and outdoor venue owners across Canada.
Through partnerships and collaborations. We will build the accessible and inclusive communities of tomorrow.
